About the Institute
The Institute for Korean Studies (MU-IKS, 미주리대학교 한국학 연구소) supports interdisciplinary research excellence on Korea at the University of Missouri. Our central mission is to develop and highlight scholarship and dialogue on issues related to Korea and its relationship to the world. Building on Mizzou’s historically strong relationship to Korea that dates back to the legacy of President Harry Truman and the Korean War, IKS seeks to broaden the public’s understanding of the two Koreas across the UM System's four campuses and throughout the state of Missouri. Our vision is to become a leading academic research institute on Korea in the American heartland. We offer a variety of programs to support Korean studies research by faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates.
